Session A: Efficacy of Nutrition Based Treatments including the Gluten Free Casein Free diet
For Topic 1. Autism Spectrum Disorder there are three Journal Club Sessions. This is Session A. Each session is worth one continuing education unit (CEU) from CDR. After completion of any of the sessions by registering for the Journal Club, reading the assigned articles and posting to the forum board you will receive a certificate of participation, one CEU per session. For details on how to obtain CEU’s, see attachment below.

Session A : After this session participants will be able to summarize, discuss and apply the current status of the evidence based research on the efficacy of the Gluten Free Casein Free diet (GFCF) as nutrition based treatment for ASD. This section includes a current Cochran Database Review by Millward, an expert panel review by the current researchers in the field by Buie, a commentary by Marcason of the American Dietetic Association and an updated article by Elder who has recently completed a study on the use of GFCF.
